  Static Testing

During the consultation, having established the aims of the individual. A decision can be made on what kind of static tests needed: These can be:
  • Resting heart rate (RHR).
  • Blood pressure (ensure the heart can with stand exercise)
  • Body composition (body fat percentage)

Dynamic testing (your physical endurance)

These tests are important depending on the individuals goals and gives the trainer an idea of the persons ability and helps
determine what level to train the client.

ROM (Range of Movement)

This is important for flexibility and posture. The results of the test will show any muscles that have shortened and may need attention to increase flexibility which in turn will lead to an improvement of posture and decrease likelihood of muscle strains aches.

This test will be carried out on the following muscles:

  • Soleus and gastrocnemius (calf muscles)
  • Hamstrings muscles
  • Adductor muscles
  • Quadricep Muscles
  • LLiopsoas (hips)
  • Pectoralis major and latissimus dorsi
 

 

AEROBIC TESTING

This can consist of a variety of tests depending on the individuals’ ability and requirements.  This ranges from aerobic testing, muscular strength and endurance and power testing. Aerobic testing will be undertaken depending on the individuals goals and availability of exercise equipment i.e. treadmill. But other tests can be performed outdoors, which will include speed and time taken to perform the exercise, the recovery time will also be taken into factor and results recorded. These tests will be carried out again at a later stage and compared with previous results for an individual’s progress to be analysed.
